*puffing and panting* Happy New Year!

I know i am a little late, but lemme take the opportunity to wish wish you a very Happy New Year. The new year concept, as such, hasn't had a lot of significance to me, really. This year's entry also reinforced that feeling of mine. But then, its a global phenomenon, the new year. So, i thought i'd rather not be uncouth.

As a new year's gift, i would like to present you this:

in love?

Yeah! Silhouette once again! was a dark and gloomy day. not much sun around. and this branch seemed to attract a lot of birds. they would come stay there for a while and fly away. Soon some more would come and perch on the branch. But, here a couple came and sat there and the one on the top ( i would like to assume the husband/boyfriend. But, for gender fairness lets keep it 'x') was poking his/her neck as though giving directions to the one on the bottom. after some time the bottom crow took flight and then the one on the top.
The end.
moral: crows haven't invented GPS navigation system yet!

cheers! :)

Taking Off...

Whoo!!! What a long week it has been!!! Absolutely no time for regular updates. Hopefully, i'll be more regular now. Anyways, This snap was taken quite long back. But, a very good one! :) i am absolutely crazy about Silhouette Photography now. But, back then when i captured this snap i was not aware of the fact that i was gonna capture one of the best snaps i would ever manage to get.
   I am one lucky chap!!!

Cheers!!!

to be free...

Slow shutter speed in use! For the first time, sepia looked good on my click (i guess). there are a lot of pigeons around my place. so, they formed an easy subject when i first started experimenting. Since then, have got some really nice snaps. :-) Will post them soon...
The best part of this snap is the fact that the subject is the center of the focus. Well, the only thing in focus actually... the sky was crystal clear. No clouds, no other birds. Nothing!

Lucky me!

Try to Blend in, will you?

My first 'Animal Photography' attempt. This was no fluke unlike Timon. Was lucky to have got the desired pose without having to wait for long. Apparently Mr. Liz did not like being clicked. Kept running away every time i pointed the camera at him/her. But finally he/she got tired of this chase and gave me this Killer Look!
Another plus point for me was the fact that there was no background noise and the liz is the only subject in focus. way to go Mr. Liz!

camera credit- Once again- Savvy Dalmia. Canon Powershot sx120.  (Absolute perfect clarity, no?)

Sweet! I Just Had My First...!

Officially, This this qualifies as my first Candid Snap! Although, i must admit, it was completely accidental. It was only after i checked the picture, i realised that it had come out so well. Please note that it is Unedited. this is the actual picture. The camera used was: Canon Powershot A540.
What i like about the picture is the way the shadow seems magnified in the background. (thanks to the flash which, for a change did not spoil the image. Especially since it was a close up) The distance between the subject (my cat, Timon :-)) and the door was atleast 7ft. But the shadow seems to be lying on something much closer.  The Serious look on Timon's face gives the picture added depth. And i have somehow managed to get the Symmetry perfectly right! Ha! Bonus!
On the negative side, i think, i would have been satisfied-er if i had (accidently) managed to get the complete ear part too. But, the difference between an ordinay snap and an extra ordinary snap usually lies in the Split Second decision to pull the Trigger. So, once the flash hit Timon's eyes, she ran away and so did my opportunity so get the Better Snap.
