The new year is here! (almost. If you see the post timing) And everybody is welcoming her like one welcomes a newly wed girl to her new home. Nobody knows how she will adjust. Nobody knows how she will treat others. But, she is pretty. So, smile and hope for the best. As i look back at 2011 i find a blur of events that have left a deep crater on my mind. Yes, the year 2011 has been one of the hardest to get through. But, it has gone by faster than i could have hoped for. Why has it been difficult? Don't ask. Hell lot of reasons. But, this year has also been the one to make me a lot more mature. For me, its not the same excitement of a brand new year. Its the excitement of a brand new life. I do not have a long list of resolutions which i can never keep up. There is just one resolution. To Be a Better Person. hopefully i can be that. And for that lemme start off by wishing you all a very Happy New Year! But, more than you guys, i have to wish someone else:
A very Happy New Year to all the people working in the countless malls, pubs, restaurants overtime on new years eve and new years night to make sure we can have an eventful New Year. To all those who serve us with a smile at 12:00 midnight despite them wanting to be at home with their family. To those who guard the malls and patiently try handling the drunk "celebraters" while they would want to head home and celebrate with a toast themselves. To those who help us in any other way possible so that we can have a memory of as to how we welcomed the new year. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to you guys. May this year indeed be a very happy one for you guys.
Also a very Happy New Year to all the drivers driving tonight. (The city transport department has kept a few of the city buses functioning for longer hours into the night to avoid drunken driving.) BMTC, KSRTC, KPN,SHARMA, CITY TAXI, EASY CABS etc., etc., you better be paying your drivers bonuses for their sacrifice this New Year. While we are wasted beyond limits and are in the happiest times of our lives these drivers make sure they take us home safely. Thank you, once again form the bottom of my heart.
A very Happy New Year to the city's traffic police department who are working overtime to ensure law and order does not get disrupted on the very first couple of hours of the New Year. (hopefully you'll not take us for a ride at lest tonight. if not for the entire year.)
And last but not the least... a very Happy New Year to the Common Man for whom the new year is just one night of celebrating after which everything comes back to normal. (just as quickly as the clock strikes 12:00 after that its not 12:00 anymore... its 12:00:01 and so on... ) Its the same race to have a secure future for the family, for the kids... Its the same crowding at budget hotels for a family lunch,dinner.... its the same shopping at the mega discount sale... its the same rush to fill petrol the night before yet another price hike hoping to save some bucks.... its all the same... its just a new year... just a New Year....
