We'll meet. At infinity!

What makes this an interesting picture is that its not just the track that seems to be stretching into infinity. The railing and farther ahead, the hill, too, seems to just go on. Straight. But, they'll meet at infinity, right? Otherwise its gonna be a very boring journey!

welcome, my child, welcome!

     Religion, they say, is the biggest lie in the world. To an extent, i agree (to a great extent, in fact). However, there is a reason why people don't go about shouting this in the erars of the devout. For one, they will either beat him/her up or will simply stop listening. Secondly, who will the poor devout turn to, when they need somebody to talk to?
   

     This is a temple in one of the tribal villages where i have, on many occasions, seeked refuge on that tiny stone projection. Its nothing religious, but the place has some element of peace to it. At the same time, the shiny ribbons and the colourful flags make it look extremely friendly and welcoming. Its almost like having a friend. And that is what the devout need, too, right? 

Doors

     Needless to say, in the 10 days, i saw a hell lot of Havelis and Palaces (whats the difference?). They were grand. There was so much for the eyes to see. There was so much to be understood. But, amongst all the other things, one thing that constantly caught my attention was the doors of the palaces and/ the Havelis. They were so many different types of doors (duh), but at the same time there was something to all of them that fascinated me. Since i have no background in architecture, i will not be in a position to explain to you my previous statement. Maybe it was simply because there were so many different types of them. Perhaps, if i simply put up the pictures now, you'll understand.

The Shrunken Voyager

   Ever felt like giving up the chaotic life that you are presently leading, to go away somewhere far away? Ever felt like taking a journey of a lifetime? I did. At some point in time in everybody's life, i assume, everyone will feel so. Well, to all those who are in need of a break from the daily life, i give them this:

All's Right With the World...

   This picture was taken on a bright sunny summer noon. The weather was really hot, the sun was screaming at us and it looked like the roads would be the last place anybody would have wanted to be on at that point of time. Tempers were running low on the roads and everybody was in a hurry to get somewhere. (home?)  Even i was desperate to get home and switch on the fan and sit down and cool myself down.

    But then i saw this woman sitting by the side of the road with all her Laughing Buddhas beckoning the passers by to buy them. It was then that it hit me- not everybody was in a position to go home that day and rest under the cool shade of the roof. Heck, some people did not even have a roof. It was not like i had never been exposed to poverty ever before. But, that day, it just made me realise that for some people The Sun, The Rain or The Wind cannot stop them from carrying on with their life. It will be hard for them, yes. 

   But then... God is in his Heaven, all's right with the World.

life in Blurrrrrr...

   The last pic i managed to capture before i went on to drop my camera into the Indian Ocean. (Marina Beach. Indian Ocean sounds cool.... thats it.) So, can we have half a minute of silence for that, ladies and gentlemen? Why half a minute you ask? Well, because doctors are trying their best to save my camera. They say there is a 70% chance of them managing to save it. Hopefully the red light of the Operation Theater goes dead, the doctor comes out and says "I'm sorry, we could save only the mother." (NO, my camera was not pregnant...) mother because the memory card probably is all gone. So, the camera's kids i.e., the snaps are all dead. Hence the reason. Fingers crossed.
   Now, coming to the picture... i wish the day had been a little darker. With the shutter speed low, there was a lot of light getting in... so, the pic is THIS bright. But still man.... its a pretty decent capture. speaks (metaphorically) of the speed at which we normally spend our day... If my camera decides to stay alive, (euthanasia man! So sick it is to be alive with salt on your chips...it tastes good only on Lays. So, if the doctors say that they cannot bring it back to Snap mode, i will remove the battery once and for all... sob..sob...) i will try to take a similar picture at dusk. I have a feeling it will be a lot better than this. :)
  So, please pray that my camera gets well soon.

Teri? nahi! Meri? nahiii!!! Merry Christmas!

    I think more than any other festival, in India, Christmas is the one with maximum anticipation and excitement. Its the winter season. everybody's cozy with their partner, family. Its the year end and relatively low work pressure and more holidays. (Not applicable to everyone) and a lot of lights everywhere! A lot of people everywhere. on the streets, in the mall, in the car, on the scooters, every place available man! Perhaps the only place where there are no people is the homes of those people! So what? Feel a part of the crowd! feel not so alone for once!!! So, a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!

   Oh, one more thing :) everyone becomes a photographer. Some adjust with their mobile cameras while some bring their high zoom lens cameras and fidget with the camera setting (not to forget- fidget for space!) for ages to capture The snap. (oh, what? me? NO!)  This one is for the little/big photographer in all of us!

A comet called BTS

bike parking for Dummies- a crash course.

  

   Okay, now that the weekend is here, lets learn how to park it like bike-um (sounds like Beckham?). So, how to park it perfectly like it is done in the pic above? 

   So cool it looks... picture this, The family from the boys side have come to see the girl. The boy is sitting on the sofa. the dad asks- " kya hum ladki ko dekh sakte hain? " and the dad from the girls side says- "haan ji, zaroor. ek minut. Raaaadhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, chai laana zara..... 

   And then it turns out the girl has many sisters. all of them come out. and they tilt their heads in Shyness. that's what i picture when i see this photo. (if this were really to happen, i cannot help but feel sad for the boy. So many pretty ladies and he won't even know whom to choose!)

   Ahem.... sorry if that was vague. But, i just phased out. All because of this one blog which encourages other people to phase out. So, what were we talking about? Ah! yes. How to park your vehicle perfectly, right? Well, luckily for you, you have come to the right place. I'll tell you how to park it like that. 

   Just let it be in the showroom itself, no? Simple. you'll not need to take the trouble of parking and all... :) there will be people employed to do that. And, everyday as you walk past that showroom you can feel proud!

when Light fell...

   i just realised that i am running out of photographs in my archive! Gotta do something. Will do something. Sometime soon. Till then, i'll manage with the ones left. And, this ladies and gentlemen, is one among them. This is Actual Abstract Art! ( notice the alliteration? cool, no? )
  So, i have no idea about the rules of photography when it comes to light settings and light position relative to the object and the source of light. But, the shadow of the ball falling on the floor looks classy. (i guess) Maybe, an expert would be able to tell better. But, i think, somehow i managed to get it right this time! Only, Only if the ball could have moved a little to the right of the frame. (oh! the ball cannot move! i should've moved the camera! Sorry Mr. Ball, my bad.)
   (Also thanks to my mom and the maid who have kept the floor so clean!)

hallucinating, am i?

   hmm... long exposure photography... i think the clarity of the picture is quite amazing considering the fact that this picture was taken at around 8:30 in the night. The shutter speed was brought down to 25 seconds. it was funny because i would click and stand idle for the next half minute. the people walkin by would look at me like i was a terrorist or something. 

   The thing i like about this snap is the road. on the left, the road looks normal. But, on the right the road is brilliant and has a ghost kinda look. that is all this picture managed to speak to me. :)

it came and it went...

    Well.. well.. well... looks like Bangalore was really cross today! Man! never seen such angry weather in Bangalore before! But, at the same time it was one amazing feast for the eyes! the rush of blood into your ears when you stand all alone on the terrace of your house waiting for the lightning to flash! and then to click it just at the right moment to capture the Electric Ladder! One of a kind experience!
   What was amusing was that while i was waiting with my camera pointed in one direction, another (and better) lightning would show up just behind me! i would turn that way and again! There would be another strike coming from some other direction! Guess that's what patience is all about! finally i managed to capture this brilliant sequence where the whole sky turned from pitch dark to sunlight bright! take a look at it yourself!

ps- i am sorry the quality is not all that great. But, this is the best i and my Nikon could capture!

Vintaged...

   I personally like this snap quite a lot. Transports me to the World War days. Can almost picture Adolf Hitler standing right next to it with his super ego filled smile. I don't know if you feel so too or is it just because of my over indulgence with Hitler and World War study in college.
    I was really lucky to get to see this old beauty. Sadly, now, its just the body and nothing else. The place where the seats used to be, is now the home for a cat family.  The car is not really given the attention it deserves but seems to be maintained fairly well. Whoever owns it, knows the value of the car but is not interested in flaunting it. What a humble fool! :)

Cliched Incredible!

   What does this picture make you think of? For me, it was- Indiaaaa Incredible India!!! Was walking towards the Audugodi Bus-stop to catch a bus when i spotted this Post Box and immediately the Incredible India Ad sprung up in my head. So, here it is now! 

   I love the way the paint is dripping down the base of the Post Box...

The Maze...

   I really have no idea how to describe this picture. I just like the way it has come out. Serene yet lonely. If there is one thing i can vouch for, its the fact that this picture would have lost half the appeal if not for the B/W setting.
